Holiday Series

We had great participation at the first 2 0f 3 regattas in the Holiday Series. For the first time this year we had 5 Capri -14s in the race. Brain Rackohn, skipper and Commodore Bob Amenta, crew took first in the Trick or Treat regatta and Charles Heatherly was first in the Turkey regatta. Liz Frank won the C-18 race on both days. Dereck Thomas was first in the FJ's at each regatta and Roberto Stevens was first in both races sailing in the Sabot.

The winds for the "Trick or Treat" regatta were howling and several FJ's were over on their sides throwing the sailors in the water. They are a hearty bunch and climbed back in to complete all the races.

Only moderate winds arrived for the "Turkey" regatta however we all had a great time. The Lido fleets from Marina Del Rey were on hand and they vowed to return for the Kris Kringle on Sunday, December 13th. All club sailors are asked to reserve a boat ASAP because they were gobbled up last week. Don't wait until the day of the regatta and expect to have a club boat. Private boat owners are requested to arrive early so that the port captain can let you in the gate.

If you have any queations, consult the Telltales or email me.
